The Twin City

Actually din wanted to write an entry about Bratislava, budden i was looking through the photos and i felt it would be doing the city injustice if i were to merely write about Hrad Devin (see next entry). So here it goes. A really short one i hope.

Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia, and its the nearest city from Vienna. Just a short 1 hr bus trip and you’d have reached. Which is why Bratislava and Vienna are called the twin cities, cos they are the closest capitals in the world. think less than 100km apart.

like many other european cities, bratislava has an old town, and there is also a more developed side, separated by the famous danube river that runs across several eastern europe countries.

something interesting about bratislava is that there are many bronze statues. not those for memorial purposes, but just for fun kind. it really livens the town up i guess!

there are several attractions in Bratislava. the main one, i suppose, would be Hrad Bratislava, or the Bratislava castle. more on the next entry too!

den there’s this special blue church as well. not located inside the city centre, but its qt near actually.

and this old palace, which has now been converted to a parliament building.

but the main attraction in Bratislava has to be its night scenery, especially by the river. which is also why i wanna write abt it basically.

the old bridge. super got ‘feel’ (pardon my english, haha).

check out the shooting star!

and the new bridge that links the 2 parts of the city. just feels very shiok to take a stroll down the river at night.

the old town at night is beautiful as well.

oh and i forgot to mention. shopping is qt cheap in bratislava too. haha bought qt a number of stuff there. heh!
